AMS Afterschool Achieve Program
Dear Parents and Guardians,We are thrilled to introduce our ACHIEVE after-school program, part of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) initiative. This federally funded program, supported by the Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC grant from the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Arizona Department of Education, is designed to provide crucial support for students who may be facing academic challenges. Our goal is to equip your children with the encouragement, inspiration, and practical tools they need to excel both academically and socially, not just in high school but throughout their educational journey and beyond.
How the Program Works
The ACHIEVE program operates three days a week - Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays - from 3:35 PM to 5:35 PM. Each session is thoughtfully structured into two distinct hours. The first hour is dedicated to focused academic support, where students receive personalized assistance with their Math and English Language Arts (ELA) coursework. This may involve targeted tutoring to strengthen specific skills or supervised time to complete class assignments.
The second hour is devoted to enrichment activities, offering a diverse range of options including access to our open computer lab, participation in outdoor sports, cooking classes, a board gaming club, and other engaging activities yet to be determined. We've designed this program with flexibility in mind - students are not required to attend all three days and can participate when your family schedules allows. To ensure accessibility, we provide bus transportation home for students who require it. By registering your child for the ACHIEVE program, you're opening the door to a wealth of opportunities for academic growth, skill development, and social engagement in a supportive after-school environment.
